Central Act No. 21, 1860
The Societies Registration Act 1860 is legislation in India which allows the registration of entities generally involved in the benefit of Society-Education, Health, Employment etc.
Under the Act Societies may be formed by way of memorandum of Association. A copy of the rules and
regulation of the Society also has to be filed with the Registrar of the society the societies registration Act 1860 (21 of 1860) came in to force on 21 May 1860 during the British India empire. The Act continued until today being an act of parliament.
In most countries with a parliamentary system of government, Acts of Parliament begin as a Bill which the legislature votes on. A draft act of Parliament is known as a Bill. In other words, a bill is a proposed law that needs to be discussed in the parliament before it can become a law. This principal Act of parliament needs specific laws to be made by executive branch creating legally enforceable regulations and the procedures for implementing them. The Societies Registration Act 21, 1860 continues until today and being an Act of Parliament comes under right to information act 2005.
